Terry traces her commitment to being physically fit back to President Kennedy's Council on Physical Fitness challenge during her elementary school days. In her pursuit of keeping physically fit, Terry has embraced many exercise trends throughout the years, especially those that involved working out to music. In 1999 during a girlfriend trip to a hot springs, she realized she could not relax. At the suggestion of a friend she signed up for her first yoga class, and it was love at first practice.
A native Oregonian, Terry has owned two small family businesses while raising a son and a daughter. The phasing out of business ownership in 2004 allowed time to begin yoga teacher training. She is a member of Yoga Alliance and a 200 Hr Registered Yoga Teacher. She has studied and continued her own practice at Gudmestad Yoga since 2007 and is also a certified Pilates instructor.
Her spare time is devoted to being a hands on grandma to her four grandchildren, gardening, spending time with friends and volunteering with the Children Center of Clackamas County.
Terry uses her sensitive, compassionate teaching style to help her students find strength, increased flexibility, alignment and relaxation that they can take off the mat into everyday life. The uniqueness of yoga taught at Gudmestad Yoga Studio allows all students to work at a level where they feel successful.
